Of Puns and Loved Ones

May we tell you about why our logo is so special to us? It starts with our name: "Adjoyn" is a play on the word "adjoin," which means to be connected to another individual entity.

This connection to a being outside oneself is what Adjoyn is all about: increasing baby's attachment to you, promoting your bonding to baby, and offering you convenience for the transition - by adding JOY in, hence the "joy" of Adjoyn.

Everything about Adjoyn aims to be joyful. The images of our website work to stir the feelings of quiet beginnings of the newly born relationship with an infant, the start of our private sessions always begin with a joyful exercise whether we're in person or video chatting, our workshops start with dance parties, our social media will fill with words of affirmation and confidence. We hope that you feel as welcomed and embraced by Adjoyn as the two tails of the "j" and "y" in our logo embrace the tail of the "A," like a caregiver snuggles a child. The foundation of Adjoyn is this joy.

Something not displayed in our logo but always put forth in our work of joy are our three pillars: attachment, bonding, and convenience. These pillars provide the outline of all our services, whether we're meeting each other for a childbirth class, babywearing workshop, or private babywearing consultation. Attachment, Bonding, and Convenience, our ABCs, will continue to guide Adjoyn as we add postpartum doula work, lactation education, and more tools for you in early 2018. We'll elaborate more on our ABCs at another time - if this post keeps going we'll be here all night!
